The mission behind the music.
I am here to make a difference. Every song I write, every book I write, and every action I take in my life has a strategic intention to make a difference in the world. I wanted to give you a behind the scenes look at the “why” behind my business. The real causes and issues that I stand for, and work everyday for. My music and media resources are just a vehicle for a bigger message, and a platform to use my voice to empower and inspire others, while making an impact and leaving my mark. Here are the issues, causes, and passions that fuel my business and music, along with the “why” behind what I do.
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before the others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. ” Matthew 5:13
First and foremost, my mission is to see hope, love, and light as a foundation of our mainstream media and the world we live in. We are called to be a Light, to not hold back, and to live bold, incredible lives that are a testimony of what’s possible.

For years I have watched lives get turned upside down by what young girls, women, and men are being influenced by in pop culture and mainstream media. Girls are taught to be sexy, boys are taught to be macho, and women are never worthy enough. My mission is to bring light and hope into an overcrowded negative media. That girls would have women to look up to again, that women would have advocates out there for what they are really going through, and that men would see a women’s worth and treat them with respect and honor. –
Every bit of your support, whether through purchasing a product, sharing a blog entry, a book, or my album is helping give me a platform to share my message, begin to shed a light through mainstream media, and help teach and inspire other leaders to rise up and take back a part of our culture that has been destroying us. Here are a couple incredible organizations that I support. They are fighting this issue head on and making a difference in the world of sexualized media.
As consumers we need to commit to fighting and voting with our dollars. An organization that I absolutely love and support is The Representation Project. They are helping make this really easy. When you see an advertisement that degrades a woman, hashtag it with #notbuyingit. Consumer demand will always be more powerful than a CEO of a corporation. We have more power than you think. Its time to speak up.
I am an advocate for believing in the seemingly impossible. I strive to inspire people to live a life that they dream of living, while making an impact and leaving their mark on the world.
Every person should be able to make the choice of what they want to accomplish and live like on this earth, and I believe so powerfully in entrepreneurship. It has set me free, and is creating powerful, vibrant lives all over the world.
I believe every person has a voice that needs to be heard, and I hope that my site and my work can provide the inspiration and resources to empower that voice to hit the world.

After being diagnosed in 2012 with a debilitating, incurable case of Ulcerative Colitis- an auto-immune disease of the colon- my world shifted. My eyes were opened to the power of health, wellness, the food we eat, our lifestyles, and the environment we live in. I found such healing in going back to true, whole foods. Dropping all refined sugars, and getting back to food that grows and heals. I began to live my life in a way that will impact not only my body, but my children’s, and help take care of the earth.
I believe we are all here for a purpose. We need our bodies healthy and vital so that we can accomplish our mission on this earth. I want everyone to live a full, powerful life that makes a difference and leaves a mark that lives on past them, and you have to be healthy to do it!
Here are a couple of awesome people that I support, who are doing an incredible job of spreading this message, and providing resources to help people every day live healthier, happier lives.
Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution is orchestrating a movement to change the way America eats. Through education, speaking, community, collaboration, and awareness, this guy is rocking the world of health and healing through food. He helps get the right type of food in schools for children, enhance the food system for the American employee at work, teach people how to cook and prepare food, and the list goes on. http://www.jamieoliver.com/us/foundation/jamies-food-revolution/home
I am also very passionate about being a good steward of this amazing planet. I make every effort I can to preserve nature, our resources and the amazing creatures of the wild. I am a supporter of WWF: World Wildlife, and there efforts to save the planet and the species in it.
I believe that human trafficking is intricately connected to the mainstreammedia in ways we haven’t thought about. Women begin to see theirexpectation in their appearance, and ambitions, and men have been trainedover time to see women as objects. We are living in an over sexualized world, and a culture that devalues other human beings. I believe human trafficking (especially in its aggressive present state) is a fruit of that. It is now the fastest growing criminal business in the world following the drug trade. I am a proud supporter of Rapha House who are helping aid in the stop of human trafficking and sex slavery in children and women. In addition to awareness and fighting the issue, they are loving and healing victims to a restorative place of wholeness through there safe houses and programs.
